Today we woke up, packed our bags, ate some brekfast and drove to como. First we attempted to return the car but they had taken an early lunch break so we checked out the train schedule to milan and decided to walk around como until our 3:11 train. We came along a cafe/gelateria that had cappucinos (for mom and dad) and gelato (for us kids) they had a 3 scoop for 2 euros, and since it is our last day in italy, our parents let us get it. After finishing our gelato we walked along the lake and took some final pictures. We got some pizza and kebops at the train station and boarded the train. We accidentally boarded on a first class car, and rather than transferring cars with all of our bulky bags, we stayed and relaxed in first class, ewhich was completely empty. My mom was flioping out thinking that we'd get in trouble while we all settled in planning to play dumb american if we got caught. The ride was fairly short and we managed not to get caught. The station at milan is very pretty and huge. We checked our bags and looked for an information center. When we couldn't find one, we decided to take the metro to the duomo. Since the duomo doesn't distrubute the sheets of fabric to cover up short shorts and sleeveless shirts, we had to put on sweatpants and sweatshirts, which was really hot. The church is very pretty and is massive. They have both a nail and a thorn from the crucifiction of jusus which we tried to see but couldn't since the nail was on the ceiling of the church and the thorn was in a closed room. We then went to a bookstore so that bridget could buy her beloved harry potter book even though she already owns it. Anyway, we went to a park and took a break from carrying around our heavy backpacks. After going to a castle and walking around aimlessly, we sat down for dinner. After dinnre, we walked to the train station and retrieved our bags. My dad, bridget and fiobna started doing pilates in the middle of the station. A bunch of people stopped and started staring. We are about to board our night train. Everyone is exhausted from walking around and our backs hurt from our heavy backpacks.
This is an exciting site where you can track where in the world the O'Brien family is at any time.
