More from Day1

We rallied big time this evening. Shook off hte jet lag, left our room at 6PM after napping for a few. Headed past the forum, Trajan's Column, the Victor Emmanuel Monument, Sacra Ruins, Had Gelato on Campo di Fiore, Hung out at Piazza Navona , stood in awe of the Pantheon, walked through the Piazza Colonna, Headed back to the hotel via the Trevi Fountain. It was much cooler and we figured out how to get around. Saw a lot this afternoon. Still, wish we had a tour guid... so much we must be missing!

This is Piazza Navona at left which was built originally as a race track by Emperor Domitian.

We are sitting at a Bernini Fountain (4 Rivers, baroque style)
