After Uffizi and a little gelato we headed back for a siesta. Everyone slept except me and Fiona. She kept trying to wake everyone up. The line for Accademia was too long so we decided to get up early on Tuesday. We checked out the hospital that Brunelleschi designed. We wandered around town for a bit of exploring and shopping til it was time for dinner. We had dinner at Trattoria Buccaletta? It was a small place that seemed to be frequented by locals and people who bought Rick Steve's guide book. Food was great, so was the atmosphere. He did not have the typical tourist menu so the kids we forced to try something new and were rewarded. Nora is really enjoying the experimentation. Afterwards we headed back to the hotel for an early night (10PM). We have to get up early to climb the Duomo before the crowds hit!
Have fun climbing up the Duomo..great blog I have enjoyed reading it with the exception of the fainting..hopefully Rick Steves has provided some good guidance..

ReplyDeleteThe video was done by our picture camera. I bought one for the trip to ensure better pics. I'm glad I did. It is a Lumix TZ5.
