Sadly our time on Nantucket has come to an end. It was a week full of fun and family. On Friday at 10 PM I got picked up from camp and whisked home from sleep away camp. We got home at midnight, at which point I had to empty my dirty laundry from camp and pack for Nantucket. All in all, I got 2 hours of sleep before getting up for our flight at 4 AM.
The flight was a very short one in which I mostly slept. We reunited with Nora and my mom at the airport and headed for Hyannis for our ferry after a quick pitstop at chipotle. On the ferry I caught up with everything I missed on my electronics while I was at camp. After getting our bikes we headed to the rental house.
On Sunday I mostly spent the day at the beach. The waves were HUGE and sometimes scary. I got pulled under mod tossed around a bit too often for my liking but it was still fun. We did a lot of boogy boarding with the boards we rented.
Monday was the actual reunion. We biked over to Jean and Kenny's house, which was really nice. I spent most of my time playing basketball in the pool with the cousins that are my age. It was a very fun day.
Tuesday was the golf outing for the guys so I spent most of my time at the beach boogy boarding and swimming in the water. The waves were huge again, but super fun to ride with boogy boards. The water in Nantucket was a perfect temperature, and there weren't any jellyfish--only crabs. In between swimming in the ocean, we played lots of card games.
Wednesday we did a whole bunch of biking. We biked 20 miles to the small town of Sconset. It was a beautiful bike ride and the town was very quaint but I didn't enjoy it very much because I wanted to be in the water. Wednesday night we had an ice cream party at Uncle Dick's house where we ate ice cream and played football.
Thursday was gloomy so we biked into town and checked out the shops there. We went to an awesome candy shop there which had every kind of candy imaginable. We checked out a few t shirt stores and went to lunch at a nice restaurant in town. We biked back to our house and hung out for the rest of the day.
Friday--the last day for most of us--was sadly gloomy like Thursday. My parents and I went on a quick bike ride to check out some beaches near town. I was planning on going surfing, but the waves were super big--nearly 7ft in some places according to Gaven--so we couldn't go. I was super disappointed, but I got over it. Soon everyone left and it was just us and Chrissy, Colleen, Claire, and Megan. We went out to watch the surfers, which was amazing. The waves were ginormous, and the surfer were so amazing. It was fun to watch. We ordered pizza and had a relaxing night in the nearly empty house.
Early Saturday Megan and the girls left so it was just us. We scrounged up some pancake mix and made some pancakes, cleaning out our nearly used up food supply. We took some pictures down by the beach and then took one last dip in the ocean and enjoyed the huge waves. We took a taxi into town and went to The Juice Bar for ice cream and then got some fudge from Aunt Leah's...not the healthiest week ever.
We are currently heading towards the Niagara Falls. Goodbye.
