Nora's Blog 6/28/11

Nora's blog again 6/28/11

After many complications with the rental car company, we finally
packed our bags in the trunk and headed to Potsdam. It was a fairly
short drive, and it was beautiful. There were trees, flowers, ponds,
castles, windmills and fountains. But it was so hot and after walking
around for a while everyone was exhausted. We went back to the car and
set the destination of the gps to the stadium in Dresden. About
fifteen minutes into the drive, we realized that Dresden was a lot
further away from Potsdam than we thought. This meant that we would
arrive to the stadium at about halftime, which made Fiona really
upset. So dad started driving at 100 miles per hour in attempt to make
it to the game as early as possible. However, after further
investigation, we realized that the game was an hour later than we
thought it was, so we should make it there just as the game started.
But then we stopped to get food and then drove around lookin for
parking so we ended up getting to the game about 15 minutes into the
first half, which was fine as the score was still 0-0. The stadium was
much more crowded than I expected. Not every single seat was taken,
but it was pretty full. At half time the score was still 0-0, but in
the second half, USA scored two goals on the peoples republic of
Korea. We stayed after the game a while to see their victory lap and
to use the free bathrooms (a rarity in europe). Then we got back in
the car and drove to Prague.
